Heart is the Brahman

In the heart is the Brahman, both manifested and unmanifested. He who knows the Brahman who is manifested, conquers the world and triumphs over his enemies. The manifested Brahman is truth. He is the one who should be worshipped.

The learned ones say that the lightning is the Brahman. The lighting is, in fact, Brahman. He who realizes this, conquers all sin.

Life-force is the Brahman

There are some who maintain that food is the Brahman. This is not quite true because, in the absence of the life-force, food rots. There are some who maintain that the life-force is the Brahman. This is not quite true, because in the absence of food, the life-force dries up. But when the life-force and food are united, they are the Brahman. That is what sage Pratrida was told by his father. He who realizes this, remains surrounded by all living beings and gives them pleasure.

Mahavir Jayanti 27th April

Mahavir Jayanti : Sat, April 27,2013
Mahavir believes in a universe without beginning, without end and without creator.universe and all its substances are eternal.  Substances continually undergo changes. Previous forms give way to new ones without loosing their own inherent qualities. Jains believe that the universe Is without beginning or end. The universe did not begin at any time and it will not end at any time.  The universe runs on its own accord by its own cosmic laws (laws of nature).

Mahavir Jayanti celebrates the birth of Vardhman Mahavira. Vardhman Mahavir was born in the year 599 B.C. Mahavira's priority on this `Unity of Life' forms one of the supreme saving principles of human life.

Hanuman Jayanti 25th April

Anjani gave birth to Hanuman on the full moon day of Chaitra (March-April). On this day, knows as Hanuman Jyanti, Idol of Hanuman are anointed with oil, decorated with sacred leaves and Ramayan narrated in his presence for his pleasure.

Blessing Hanuman

Some are avatars of the Supreme Lord (purusa), and some are avatars of His energy (prakrti). The prakrti and purusa are simultaneously one and different. Forms are different taking on the roopa of the Shakti. Rama is Supreme God and Hanuman is His eternal devotee (Shakti). But many times the eternal associates of the Lord comprise in themselves the incarnations of multiple personalities. So Hanuman in himself is the Rudra principle. Thus we also call Hanuman as Rudratmaka (having the mentality of Rudra), because he has the destructive power and fire of Rudra.

Brahman Happiness

The happiness that comes from knowing the Brahman can be described. Imagine a youthful person. Let that youthful person be happy. Let him also be learned and the best of rulers. Let his body be firm and strong. Let him possess the entire world with all its wealth. This is the best happiness that man can think of. Multiply this happiness a hundredfold.
"Upanishads"
The self is entangled with the material end, removing it from the equation, doing deeds selflessly, without expecting praise is the path to Brahman.

Supreme Brahman

“Those who believe that Brahmanas are distinct from the Brahman, are rejected by Brahmanas. Those who believe that kshatriyas are distinct from the Brahman, are rejected by kshatriyas. Those who believe that the worlds are distinct from the Brahman, are rejected by the worlds. Those who believe that the gods are distinct from the Brahman, are rejected by the gods. Those who believe that the elements are distinct from the Brahman, are rejected by the elements. Those who believe that all objects are distinct from the Brahman, are rejected by all objects. Brahmanas, kshatriyas, the worlds, the gods, the elements, and all the objects, are nothing but the Brahman.”

"Upanishads"
Brahman resides in us, envelops us in his beautiful aura, we have to open our heart and experience his energy. Pureness in action and thought He is achieved only by believing you are one with Him, no planning or strategy can bring you close to Brahman.

Sunday 21 April 2013

Visualize the Brahman

The Brahman cannot be seen with the eyes. He cannot be realized through speech. The senses, sacrifices and meditation cannot realise the Brahman. The Brahman is realized when the mind is pure. He has no form. But one, who meditates with a pure mind, can visualize the Brahman.

"Upanishads"

A pure mind realizes the energy of Brahman and sees his formlessness as a path to self realization.

Brahman Brings Wealth

Men are the mead of the elements, the elements are the mead of men. The immortal and energetic being who is in men is also mead. The immortal and energetic being who is in the bodies of men is also mead. This knowledge confers immortality. This knowledge of the Brahman is everything.
The Brahman brings wealth. He who knows this, obtains all the objects that he desires. Hearing is wealth. If hearing is present, all the Vedas can be heard.

Universe is the Brahman

The Universe is the Brahman. It is form the Brahman that the universe originates. Again at the time of destruction, it is into the Brahman that the universe merges. Since everything is the Brahman, one should not fall prey to emotions and should worship the Brahman with placidity. One’s deeds in this life get reflected in one’s fortune in the after-life. Therefore, it is the Brahman who should be worshipped with all concentration.
"Upanishads"
Calmness of the mind , placid and pure devotion is what Brahman seeks. Mantras and pujas are aids of meditation but do not replace devotion. Selfless devotion is what He seeks.

Brahman Is the Lord

The Brahman is the lord of the gods. It is in him that all the worlds find refuge. He is the source of all bliss and he is the ruler of all bipeds and quadrupeds. Let us worship the Brahman with our offerings. He is smaller than the smallest. He is the witness of all that goes on in the world. Many are his forms. And he is the omnipresent one who brings welfare. Know the Brahman if you desire peace.

"Upanishads"

Brahman brings both happiness and sorrow, you don't realize one without the other. Being calm though life's journeys and having pure faith in Brahman , not questioning the events that happen, rather learning from them and seeing new life unfolding is realizing His teachings.

Tuesday 16 April 2013

Brahman is in The Heart of Living Beings

The Brahman is in the heart of living beings and the Brahman is in the centre of the sun. It is the same Brahman who is in both places. A person who realizes this unity of the Brahman, is freed from the material pursuits of the world. He knows the Brahman who is in foodgrains; he knows the Brahman who is in the life force; he knows the Brahman who is in the mind; he knows the Brahman who is in knowledge; and he knows the Brahman who is in happiness.

"Upanishads"

Brahman is in everyone, not everyone realizes Him, and nor do you see Him in everything and everyone. Taking others actions at face value is difficult, but you let it happen and then let the future unfold. Lessons learnt are hard but enlightening. Stay strong with your faith in pure thought and action and He will see you through.

Brahman Creates the Universe

The Brahman is like a vast sky. In him are all the Vedas and all the gods. The Vedas serve no purpose for a person who does not know the Brahman. It is only those who realise the Brahman, that can attain bliss. Everything that is propounded in the Vedas originates from the Brahman. It is through his powers of illusion (Maya) that the Brahman creates the universe. And living beings are tied down there through their ignorance. Know the world to be an illusion and know the Brahman to be the creator of this Maya. All the objects in the universe have the Brahman in them.

Brahman is the Origin of Everything

The heart becomes like a cave for the worshipper. In that cave, he visualizes the Brahman with the aid of a lamp that is his atman. He becomes learned and is freed from the cycle of life and death. The Brahman is the origin of everything; he is there in the universe. It is he who is born as men and will continue to be born in the future. He is inside3 every living being. He is in fire, water, herbs, trees and the entire universe. We bow in obeisance before the Brahman.

Brahman Rules Over Everything

Those who know the power of the Brahman who rules over everything, are indeed immortal. It is the Brahman who is the origin of all prosperity. The Brahman is Rudra. It is he who creates, preserves and destroys. It is he who grants eyes, mouths, arms and feet to all living beings. It is he who creates heaven and earth. He is the one who presides over the universe and it is he who created the gods. May Rudra grant us wisdom.

Pray to the Sun God

May the god who are in heaven hear this praise of the sun-god. May this praise be glorified and may the sun-god help the process of concentration. If the blessings of the sun-god are not obtained, the mind gets distracted by the rituals of igniting fires, offering oblations and extracting soma juice at scarifies. The Brahman must be worshipped only after the blessings of the sun-god have been obtained. It is only then that the material world does not tie one down.

Infinite Happiness

The Brahman cannot be described by knowledge about material objects. There is infinite happiness in getting to know the Brahman. A person, who knows the Brahman, is freed from all fear.
Such a learned person does not waste time in thinking why he performed evil acts and not good ones. Such a learned person knows the Brahman who is beyond evil acts and good ones. Such a learned person sees the Brahman in both evil acts and good ones. That is the secret of brahmavidya.

Brahman Realized Through Truth and Meditation

The Two Pieces of wood that ignite the fire can be thought of as the physical body and the sacred syllable oum. The act of rubbing the two together is the act of meditation. When this is done, the radiant Brahman is realized. Clarified butter is always present in milk, even if it cannot be seen. Like that, the Brahman is everywhere and can be realised through truth and meditation. He who realizes the Brahman, realize him in one’s own atman. The Brahman is like oil in sesamum seeds, water in the ground, and clarified butter in milk.

Supreme State of Human

“A supreme state of human joy is attained by a person who has health, wealth and lords over others. One hundred units of human joy add up to one unit of joy the ancestors. One hundred units of joy for the ancestors add up to one unit of joy for the gandharvas. One hundred units of joy for the gandharvas add up to one unit of joy for those who have attained divinity through action. One hundred units of such joy add up to one unit of joy for those who are born gods. One hundred units of joy for such gods add up to one unit of joy for Prajapati. One hundred units of joy for Prajapati add up to one unit of joy for Hiranyagarbha. This is the bliss that is attained by one who realizes unification with the Brahman.”

Atman is the Brahman

“The atman is the Brahman. He is knowledge, he is the mind, he is the life force, he is the eye, he is the ear, he is the earth, he is the water, he is the wind, he is the sky and he is energy. He has no desire or anger, no sense of righteousness or sin. A person who falls prey to desire enjoys the fruits of his past action and then returns to earth to perform more action. But a person, who is free from desire, unites with the Brahman. When all desire is conquered, man becomes immortal. Like a snake sheds off its old skin, the atman then sheds off the physical body. He no longer has a body and becomes the immortal Brahman.”

Brahman is the Dearest

The knowledge of the Brahman is more desired than a beloved son, or the best of wealth. The Brahman is the dearest of all objects. A man may love material objects and other living beings. But all of these decay and die. The Brahman alone is a beloved entity who is immortal.

"Upanishads"

Brahma Created The World

The Brahman belched and fire was created from the interior of his mouth and from the palms of his hands. It is for this reason that there is no hair in the inside of mouth and on the palms of the hands. Men worship different gods and perform different sacrifices dedicated to them. But all these gods were created by the Brahman and all these gods are nothing but the Brahman. As the god Soma, the Brahman created all liquid objects. This universe is established on Agni and Soma. He who knows about the secrets of creation, unites with the Brahman himself.

Worship the Om as the Brahman

Worship the syllable oum as the Brahman. Oum pervades everything, and everything is in oum. It is oum that is used when priests chant incantations for the gods. It is oum that is used when hymns of the Sama Vedas are chanted. It is oum that is used that is used when mantras are recited. It is oum that is used when mantras are recited. It is oum that is used when the choristers sing. The syllable oum signifies the sanction of the Brahman. It is oum signifies the sanction of the Brahman. It is oum that is used when oblations are made into the sacrificial fire. Oum is used so that one may learn the Vedas. Oum is used so that one may attain the Brahman.

Glory of the Brahman

There were two birds which lived on the same tree. They were always together and they had the same names. One of the birds ate the sweet fruit of the tree. The other bird did not eat the fruit of the tree. It merely saw.

(The two birds are the Atman and the Brahman. The Atman savors the fruit of life, but the Brahman does not.)
by hknet.org.nz
Living beings get addicted to tree (life) and suffer. They worry and are miserable. The Brahman is revered by many. When living beings realize the glory of the Brahman, they overcome all misery.

Brahman is in the Heart

In the physical body there is the heart. The Brahman is in the heart in minute form. But he has to be sought before he can be found. One must desire to know him. The heart is like the sky. Heaven and earth, fire and wind, the sun and the moon, lightning and the stars are all in the sky. Like that, everything in the body is in heart.
By hinduism.iskcon.org

The radiant and beautiful Brahman is in the heart. But his form is as minute as that of a grain of barley. He is the lord and controller of everything in the universe.

Significance of Aum

“The syllable Aum signifies that part of the Brahman which does not act. It also signifies that part of the Brahman which acts. The learned ones worship the syllable Aum as the Brahman and attain salvation.”

“This is the best path that there is, the worship of Aum as symbol of both facts of the Brahman. Such a person merges into the Brahman himself.”
