The Sun Source of Life

"The Sun is the source of life and the moon is the source of foodgrains. Everything survives on foodgrains, be it thick of form or thin. All forms are thus nothing but foodgrains".

"The Sun rises in the east and blazes forth in his energy. It is the rays of the sun that instil the force of life into living beings. Wherever the sun radiates his rays, east, west, north, south, up or down, the rays enter into the bodies of living being and make them thrive."
"This is the entity that is there in all living beings. This is the entity is lfe and fire throughout the universe. This is the entity that rises as the sun. And it is about this entity that the following has been said in the Rig Veda."

"The learned know the omniscient sun whose form permeates the universe. Many are his rays and he is the sources of all life. He is the unique one who is like the eye of the universe. The sun radiates heat and his ray are everywhere. The sun rose to be the life force of living beings".

Knowledge of the Brahman

When Wisdom and intelligence light up the soul, it is then that the Brahman becomes known and one become truly learned. It is the Brahman who leads to immortality. Knowledge that leads to salvation. It is the Brahman who leads to immortality. knowledge of the Brahman frees one from bondage.

One who gets to know the nature of the Brahman during his life, is indeed successful. If such knowledge not attained, one suffer in the darkness of ignorance. One is born again and again. The learned ones visualise the Brahman in every object of the world. they withdraw themselves from the material world. They become immortal like the Brahman itself.

Five Elements

In the beginning, there was nothing in the universe. The universe was encompassed by the hunger that is death. "Let me create mind,"thought death, and the mind was created. The Brahman worshiped himself and water was born. And while he worshiped himself, fire was also born.
(The five elements are the sky, the wind, energy, water and fire. There is a reference here to the creation of two of the five elements.)
Water is fire.(This is not very clear. But the sacred text often state that fire is established in water.) Land floated on the water just as a layer of cream floats on milk. The land became the earth and once the earth was created.

Oum Shantih Shantih Shantih 

May the brahman equally protect both of us (the teacher and the disciple). May both of us be granted the knowledge equally. May both of us equally possess the power to acquire knowledge. May our learning be successful, may we not hate each other. Let there be peace.Let there be peace. (You may have wondered why the invocation to peace occurs thrice. The first invocation takes care of physical ailments, the second of natural catastrophes and the third of violence caused by animals.)

GANESHA DHYANAM

(A hymn for devout meditation on Ganesha)

YAM BRAHMA VEDANTA VIDO VADANTI
PARAM PRADHANAM PURUSHAM TATHANYE
VISHWODGATEH KARANAM ISWARAM VA
TASMAI NAMO VIGHNA VINASHAKAYA.

Adorations to Sri ganesha, the destroyer of all obstacles, who is called Nrahman, the Absolute,, by the knowers of Vedanta, and Supereme Being, or Pradhana (Prakriti or primordial Matter), or purusha (the Spirit) by others, Who is the couse of the world, the Lord of the Universe!

God Ganesha is the first worshiped God.According to the theology of the puranas, he is the first son of God Shiva.
'Ganesha' literally means the Lord of the Ganas the spirits presiding over the five elements (Tattwas) which go to constitute the world. This aspect of the Divinity is worshiped first, when commencing all forms of sacred worships, festive celebrations, and auspicious undertakings.

OM SRI GANESHAYA NAMAH

This Mantara literally means "Adorations to Sri Ganesha."

This mantra is recited at the commencement of any new project-- whether spiritual or material. An aspirant must repeat this mantra at least three times at the beginning of his spiritual practices.

This Mantara removes obstacles, enhances knowledge, promotes institutional wisdom, and grants Liberation!

Brahmana Speech

Speech grants wisdom and it is through speech that one knows one understands the Rig Veda, the Yajur Veda, the Sama Veda, the Atharva veda, history, the puranas, knowledge, secret knowledge, the shlokas and their commentaries. Sacrifices, oblations, gifts, life and afterlife are understood through speech. Speech enabled one to know all living beings. Speech is the brahman. he Who realises this, is never forsaken by speech. All living being gather around him. He becomes like a god and attains the gods."

Only Brahman

Agni became the organ of speech and entered the mouth. Vayu became the organ of smell and entered the nose. Surya became the organ of sight and entered the eyes. The gods of the directions became the organs of hearing and entered the ears. the herbs and the trees became organs of touch and entered the skin. The moon entered the heart and the god of death entered the navel.

Hunger and thirst asked the brahman, "What about us? What will happen to us?"

"You will live in the bodies of the gods," replied the Brahman. "Whenever oblations are offered to the gods, you will receive a share."
